Charter Weekend 2008
The most important event of the Comaopny of Cordwainers year, is the Charter Weekend.
Traditionally this opens with the Master Elect meeting guests from the London Guilds and introducing them to the City of York.

Charter Dinner
In the evening there is a short meeting of the Court of Assistants who swear -in the new Master, who then goes on to host the Charter Dinner, held this year in the Hall of the Merchant Adventurers. |
CHARTER DAY
Sunday starts with the meeting of the Court of Assistants, resumed from the previous day. This is the A.G.M. of the Company and terminates with the swearing-in of newly elected Members and the Officers of the Court for the new year.

Procession to All Saints, Pavement for the Charter Day Service
 | The Beadle, leads the procession to the Guild Church of All Saints, Pavement for the Annual Service conducted by the Company Chaplain Rev. Chris Cullwick.
The Company are joined by the Civic Party for the Service, and afterwards the Lord Mayor and Sherrif and their consorts, together with the City Macebearer and Swordbearer, and the Company Beadle lead the procession to the Company's Hall at the Bedern.
