Welcome to Darlington and District Orchid Society

The Society is fairly new having been established in April 2000 to allow people interested in the cultivation and conservation of Orchids to meet and discuss related subjects.

It is more than just this because we are mostly just beginners to the field (no pun intended) of growing Orchids and all have a lot to learn. Many members just grow plants on windowsills and around the house because, contrary to popular belief, there are Orchids which are more like houseplants than some houseplants we have seen.

We invite commercial growers and other people to
speak to us and help us to enjoy our hobby. We also try to make available Orchids for members to buy and add to their collection, if indeed they have a collection.
