Who are Durham Advanced Motorcyclists?

DAM was formed in 1994 with just 15 members. Our aim was and still is, to improve road safety for motorcyclists in the Durham area. Today we have approaching 250 members with the group still going from strength to strength. DAM is a non-profit making organisation with charity status, we are therefore affiliated with but not subservient to the The Institute of Advanced Motorists ( IAM ). Our members are of all ages, come from all walks of life and ride bikes from R1's, Fireblades, GSXRs, Ducatis, Aprillias, Hondas, BMWs and Harleys. Research has shown that Advanced Motorcyclists are between 3 and 5 times less likely to have an accident. You may well be a good rider already but our training will make you a much safer and smoother rider than you already are.
