Darlington Clarinet Ensemble

The Darlington Clarinet Ensemble was formed over 25 years ago and rehearses fortnightly on Thursday evenings at the Darlington Arts Centre.

The DCE features all instruments of the clarinet family from the high Eb clarinet to the low Contrabass clarinet and as well as soprano clarinets features alto and bass clarinets and the basset horn. There are currently 16 players in the group directed by John MacKenzie. The DCE library contains over 300 pieces both published and arrangements and transcriptions made by members of the ensemble.

The DCE has given many concerts throughout the North East and Cumbria supporting many charities.

Every Christmas the DCE is joined by friends to form a Concert Band that gives a charity concert at the Darlington Arts Centre. This year's concert is at 7.30 on Monday 22nd December. This will be the band's 28th Christmas Concert and once again we will be supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Research Trust.
