D.P.S. 2009-2010 Season

Eastern Explorations Our season of international piano recitals has an emphasis on artists from countries to the east of the UK: Russia, Kazakhstan, China, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Australia with Sarah Beth Briggs flying the flag for Britain with a concert and a masterclass to end the season. Most of the artists include music from their own cultural background as well as the Western classical repertoire. Our premium concert will be Yevgeny Sudbin who, since his stunning recital for us in 2007, has achieved a truly international stature and now appears in the major venues worldwide as both solo recitalist and with the world’s great orchestras and conductors. We are keeping the membership fees and ticket prices at the same level as last year and again offer you an opportunity to take out a standard membership of Teesside Music Society at a vastly reduced subscription fee. Please remember that we are only able to present concerts of such a high standard and our three free public masterclasses for promising young artists through the aid of our advertisers, sponsors, patrons and Darlington Borough Council whose help, both financial and’ in kind’ is most gratefully acknowledged.
