International Connections

Welcome to our 12th season. Now firmly established on the classical music scene in Darlington we have built up a loyal audience of discerning and appreciative music-lovers. As the saying goes, ‘nothing succeeds like success’, and the committee works hard to ensure that each new season builds on the success of previous seasons. This season, there is a significant change in the way we operate. In common with other music-promoting societies in the region, we have until now received grants towards professional fees via Making Music. These are no longer available on the direction of the Arts Council of England who provided Making Music with funds to disburse. We have always relied on the support of our members and that support is more than ever important now. Our single most valuable asset is our members: no members, no Society – no Society, no concerts. We would urge existing members to renew their membership – and perhaps persuade a friend to join too – and encourage the rest of you to "give us a go". It works out at less than £7 a concert if you buy even a full-price season ticket, and we maintain that’s nothing if not value for money. In addition, as a member of Darlington Piano Society you can buy a half-price season ticket to Teesside Music Society. Join today, your support matters!
