Masterclasses
Masterclasses 2008-9
4 October 2008: 10.30 by Margaret Fingerhut
28 March 2009: 10.30 by Sarah Beth Briggs
Masterclasses are not competitive and offer the young students an opportunity to gain essential information from a professional concert pianist.
It is better to have a piece that is relatively new to the student, rather than one polished and practised for an examination.
Masterclasses are free.
Students should be sufficiently advanced in technical ability to benefit from a masterclass (as a guide Grade 6 - 8).
Apply either direct or via your teacher. (Contact details below.)
There are normally three or four places on a masterclass, each student being allocated about 30 - 40 minutes - no charge either for anyone who wishes to listen and learn.
Young People’s Platform Concert: When funds permit we arrange an extra concert to be given by the best young students who have taken part in earlier masterclasses.
We hope to hold one in the 2009-10 season.
