Allotments - have a go!
 | There are many benefits of having an allotment:
A source of affordable good quality foods for families in any community.
You can grow your own fresh and favourite range of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and even flowers
Allotments are developing as part of a nation-wide network of food links
Working an allotment is a healthy physical recreation for all age groups - GPs will even prescribe it for stress!
Allotments have an immense educational value. They can be used by school gardening clubs and cooking clubs for school-based projects.
Allotment gardening brings the community together. People from all age groups and from a wide variety of social backgrounds come together, and learn from each other, through gardening together.
Allotments enable you to be close to nature and wildlife.
Allotments provide an open space for all. A great value to people living in houses without gardens. |
