East Durham Community Transport - Charges

Hire charges do not not include fuel which must be paid for by the hirer.

The Countryside Agency have provided funding to enable not-for-profit organisations to receive a 50% subsidy in charges. All community groups and voluntary organisations are eligible for the subsidy.

MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) Training

In the interests of safety and best practice we insist that everyone who drives an East Durham Community Transport vehilce has undertaken the MiDAS course.
This training session takes approximately 3 hours to complete and instructs the driver how to correctly operate the minibus and all of the equipment onboard. The training also covers passenger handling, highway law and a comprehensive driving session.
The course costs £30 for not-for-profit organisations, however, funding has been secured to enable the courses to be run free although these funds are limited so book early. The charge for profit making organisations is £50.
