Two pubs by any other name

There are two pubs bearing the name of the founder of West Hartlepool - Ralph Ward Jackson. If they have a similar name then they are entirely different in character.
The JACKSON'S ARMS is in Tower Street, (TS24 7HH) tel 01429 862413 and is one of the pubs on the Friday night trail for the more mature patrons of what is commonly called "the bottom end". The Jackson's Arms has 4 cask ales which constantly change albeit not in quality, a pool table and is handy for the live music venue opposite The Studio.
JACKSON'S WHARF is situated on the marina not far from the tall sailing ship visible from almost every vantage point on the marina. Whilst at the Jacksons Wharf have a look on the paddle steamer the Wingfield Castle. Real ale and heritage - what more could you want?
The Jackson's Wharf serves food all day and real ale. It has outdoor tables overlooking the water sports area on summer days and during the season is very popular when Hartlepool United are at home.
Does get busy in the summer (last week in July first week in August - just my little joke)and I am not sure whether they accept bookings. Give them a ring on 01429 862963.

The Historic Quay and more

If you find Jacksons Wharfe you will be on the very impressive Hartlepool Marina, the home of the Historic Quay, HMS Trincomalee, the paddle steamer Wingfield Castle and lots more. The Mueseum is well worth a visit and there is a gift shop too!
Hartlepool Historic Quay - first class.
