Lorna and I spent two New Year's Eve at the Brackenrigg Inn on the shores of Lake Ullswater. We had a splendid time roasting our backsides after a walk up to Red Tarn and then after a splendid New Year's Eve banquet watch the fireworks across the Lake.
Plenty to do here - walking - sampling the splendid malts and even enjoying a mini cruise on Lake Ullswater, weather permitting of course.
I have included the Brackenrigg's own site below because you will want to see the rooms including the fourposter bed and drool at the menu.
Excellent value and a most wonderful setting.
