A visit to Hartlepool would not be complete without visiting the Historic Quay on the magnificent marina. There is a museum, fine sailing ship which sometimes has re-enactments in period uniform plus a gift shop.
There has been a settlement in the Hartlepool area since Saxon times and medieval remains and Roman remains have been found at various locations.
