Splendid weekend retreat

Lorna and I spent a very pleasant weekend at the George & Dragon Hotel in Kirkbymoorisde, North Yorkshire.
Turning off the Market Place we parked the roller (I wish) in the rear courtyard and signed into our room. Excellent facilities, ensuite (naturally) tv., hospitality tray, radio, telephone - just what the doctor ordered.
We enjoyed a splendid dinner from the full al a carte menu in the restaurant but you could if you wish have it in the bar in front of a roaring log fire. This was good Yorkshire hospitality. I won't tell you what we had or the extent of the wine list as they had so many dishes plus a specials board. Its AA listed too.
On the second night after dinner we ventured into the market square and within 50 yards sampled the different delights of several other hostelries before retiring to watch the late night movie.
The George and Dragon, Market Place, Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire YO62 6AA is open throughout the year.
A perfect venue for that away from it all celebration.
