In August Lorna and I visited Tarbert, Loch Fyne on the Mull of Kintyre. In addition to doing the usual touristy things - a trip to Campbeltown and Oban, a trip on the last ocean going paddle steamer The Waverley was cancelled due to the inclement weather. It was raining - not your usual bog standard rain - but horizontal rain as you can only get in Scotland.
Nevertheless this afforded us the opportunity to dine at the Columba Hotel, on the shores of Loch Fyne.
I could never do justice to the extensive menu offered at The Columba Hotel so here is an extract:

If you are planning to stay at The Columba Hotel I can tell you that rooms start at £39.95 p.p. per night and they have some cracking deals on especially in the winter months.
I don't need to tell you that they have a selection of more than 50 whiskey's which you would expect. Well this is Bonnie Scotland and after a few whiskey's it get's even bonnier!
I have created a link to their own website. Please be assured even if the weather at Loch Fyne is a tad wetter than you would wish a night at the Columba Hotel will bring a smile back to your face.
Place a coin on the "lucky wall" above the fire place to record your visit.
