MiDAS/PATS
Minibus Driver Awareness Training
This short training course is delivered by our MiDAS/PATS trainer Darren Heron and involves both a theory and driving test. All training is given during the course to pass the tests and the pass rate is over 98%.
The training session can easily be accomplished in a morning or afternoon and lasts no more than 4 hours.
The MiDAS certificate (Parts 1 and 2) is nationally recognised and enables the recipient to drive East Durham Community Transport vehicles.
All Community transport operators insist on this level of driving ability be proved before allowing their vehicles to be driven.
The PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Course)module is also facilitated by Darren Heron and covers correct handling of passengers during travel. It is recommended that anyone acting as a passenger escort for a hiring groups undertakes the training, however, unlike the MiDAS training for Drivers, it is not mandatory.
Please contact Angela Kent on 0191-5182633 for further information regarding both MiDAS and PATS. |
Brokerage
Liam Weatherill (Project Manager)is constantly looking to increase the usage of redundant vehicles within East Durham by introducing them into the East Durham Community Transport fleet.
If they are of a high standard and relatively new, they can be operated by East Durham Community Transport and we will pay for all safety inspections, maintenance, Road Tax and insurance, and we will house and clean them.
The organisation donating the vehicle will then have access not only to their vehicle, but also all other vehicles within the fleet which may on occassion be more suitable than their own.
All hires to these organisations are free with only the fuel costs to be met.
Please contact Liam on 0191-5184321 for further information. |
