Plant Sale / Swap

Many residents have surplus plants that they are keen to swap or sell. Details of the event will be posted on the notice boards in the Park.
There will be a plant stall at the Community Gala on July 28th 2pm. in the Park. Bring along any spare plants you have to swap or sell.

Litter Pick

One of the biggest problems residents encounter in the Park is litter and dog dirt.
While we cannot prevent irresponsible dog owners from using the Park, there are going to be increased patrols which will catch the culprits.
Two litter picks have already been organised:
11th May
7th July.
Details will be on the noticeboards.

Summer Planting

Summer planting will take place in the last week of May and the first week of June. Before this, we need to remove the winter bedding and replant it around the Park.
Look out for notices on the boards giving exact dates and times, if you wish to help.
Update-July. The primulas have been removed and planted out around the park. Come the Spring, they should provide more colour, especially between the avenue of trees from Eastbourne Road.
Volunteers have also planted geraniums and marigolds in the beds at the Falmer Road end of the Park. Thank you to all who helped ,on a very hot day (and evening).

Summer Fayre

at Darlington Manor Care Home.
The Summer Fayre will be held Saturday,16th July in the grounds of the Home. There will be a variety of stalls, games and refreshments.
Come along and enjoy the afternoon.

Historic Walk

John Rutherford intends to lead an Historic Walk around the area on Sunday,17th September.
Meet at the Pavilion at 2pm. and enjoy refreshments afterwards.
