The History of Eastbourne Park

Eastbourne Recreation Park was established in 1902. It was opened by the Deputy Mayor of the town and was the seventh of eight parks ,the eighth being North Lodge Park. It was known then as "The Little Park".Today,it is described as a "Pocket Park" by the Borough Council.
The Park had Putting and Bowling Greens,Tennis Courts and a play area. There were toilets and a fountain. A Park Keeper was employed to oversee the area.
