This is Robert Appleton, the cousin of my grandfather. The address is correct but not the regiment. Robert was in the Cyclist Corps and was killed in action on 24 May 1915 in the Ypres Salient. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate on panel 56.

The senior member of the Skelton Coy C.L.B. having joined as a Private in Boosbeck in 1899, He originally started in 1901 when the HQ was transferred to Skelton. Sidney was promoted to Corporal , his conduct and punctuality led to rapid promotion. SGT Sidney Craven was killed on the 21st August 1915 in Gallipoli. He was given a commission as second Lieutenant and a year later made Lieutenant having passed through all ranks.
