HARDWICK HALL COUNTRY PARK

The Hardwick Hall Country Park, administered by Durham County Council, lies a short distance to the west of Sedgefield, a small rural town midway between Durham and Stockton-on-Tees. The country park is well used and appreciated by people both from Sedgefield and further afield as a place for informal recreation in pleasant surroundings, with wood, water and wildlife all well represented. The presence of several ornamental buildings, in various states of completeness and dereliction, suggests even to the casual visitor that Hardwick has a richer story to tell.
