The Glendale is a mixed voice choir who enjoy meeting together each week to develop their skills in music.
The music we sing ranges from the classical baroque composers of three hundred years ago, through to the 1950s songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein, the great pop songs of the 1960s and ’70s, and the songs of the modern classical composers. We enjoy a lively social calendar and regularly welcome visiting choristers to sing along with the Choir. The Glendale Choir loves to share its music with friends and the local community, and encourages anyone who enjoys singing to come and join our musical fellowship. Choir practices are held at Citizens House, Station Yard, Consett, on Tuesdays from 7-9pm.

The Annual Charity Concert.
Each year in the Spring the Choir holds a Charity Concert with special guest artists.The concert in 2012 is on Saturday 21st April at St Patrick's Church Hall, Consett, at 7pm.
This year all the proceedes of the concert will go The British Heart Foundation - admission is free, but there is a retiring collection.
The Choir will be singing many well known classics from composers including Mozart, Vaughan Williams, Elgar, Mancini, Paul Simon, Tony Hatch, and Lloyd Webber. Quite a selection!
There will also be music from special guest Michael Cave (flute) and a string quartet. We also welcome the young performer Alexander Walls (winner of the school music prize at Emmanual College) who will be playing two movements from a Beethoven piano concerto.
