This is the heart of night life

Just up from Veronicas (which does not deserve the reputation in part) you will find at least two pubs worthy of a visit especially if you are young or young at heart. Linekers Bar in Starco is well worth a visit and a magnet for young people. Good place to meet friends and after McDonald's is the next most popular request to taxi drivers (from people under 25 that is - laughter). They have crazy DJ's, all the top sport on the box and the prices are sensible too. A few yards up the road is Wigan Pier and the outrageous host, Miss Crystal Starr. This is a drag act who is the resident compere. Wigan Pier has free nightly cabaret but if you are easily offended by the odd swear word then best stay away. During the day the Wigan Pier food is good pub grub and the two for one cuba libre's are wonderful. Also in this area you may wish to try Yates Show Bar, Rumours or Wetherspoons before drifting back towards KFC & Pizza Hut as the munchees take a hold.
