Moving On!

After the extortionate demand for a 50% incease in the rent asked for the hire of the LiberaL Democrat committee room [Which seemed to your Webmaster neither liberal nor democratic] and an astonishing letter complaining of the state in which the room was left,[!] your committee sought other suitable premises in central Harrogate. Kathleen Manson happened on a room in Harrogate Community House, East Parade, Harrogate. It is a custom-built building for use by groups and societies, very modern and clean, and has a good kitchen (small, but a lot bigger than the Lib-Dem's one). The further good news is that it is £4.00 per hour - i.e. £8 per evening. She was told the rates are going up - but nothing to what the Lib-Dems are demanding.Donald, Owen and Kath have all seen the room, and are convinced it's just what we need. If you would like to see the room for yourself, give Kath a ring. There are some steps to negotiate but not many - the walk to the room is mostly on the level. The building is on a corner, and there is street parking around it. As the room, costs and kitchen are all attractive, it was felt advisable to book it now while the opportunity is still there. It is likely that the move will happen in January 2007 Kath hopes everyone will approve, but if you have any concerns, please let her know. We will be meeting at the new location commencinbg January 10th 2007
