Haughton Challenge Cup
Rules:
1) The competition will consist of 4 teams, Haughton CC and 3 invited village cricket teams.
2) Matches will take place on one Sunday, The date of which will be decided by the club committee. Should inclement weather cause a delay to the competition the alternative date will be the following Sunday.
3) The first ball will be bowled at 12 noon.
4) The matches will consist of fifteen six ball overs per innings.
5) Five bowlers to bowl Three six ball overs per innings.
6) The wicketkeeper will be named and bat at number six in the order.
7) The named bowlers will bat at numbers seven to eleven.
8) Should a named bowler be unable through injury to complete his allotted overs the person named at number five in the batting order will complete the allotted overs.
9) The team line-ups in batting order will be handed to the Umpires, prior to tossing up.
10) No changes to the batting line up will be allowed once the match is in progress.
11) Bowlers named numbers seven to eleven to be used by the captain at his discretion being mindful of the three overs each limit.
12) Clubs will bowl with their own ball, No restriction on make.
13) Normal cricket rules apply.
14) Umpires decisions will be final.
15) The following method to decide match winners.
a) Scoring most runs in innings.
b) Least wickets lost should scores be tied.
c) Should scores / wickets still be tied the winners will be the team which scored the most runs in the first over of their innings.
16) Any participating player must be a registered playing member of the club that he is representing.
17) Umpires will be provided by Haughton Cricket Club.
* The Cup to be held by the winning club for 12 months and adequate provision to be made for the safe keeping of the cup whilst in their possession (Including Insurance).
Individual Trophies also for winning team.
* The winners will be invited to defend
the cup the following season.
