What's On?
On 15 July we visited Acorn Dairies, at Archdeacon Newton. This is an organic farm and supplies milk and dairy products to local homes, shops and also to Morrison's supermarket. We had a most interesting tour of the dairy itself, and also walked round part of the acreage, seeing the calves and some of the dairy herd, and learning about the pasture etc. Despite the rain, it was a worthwhile visit - and was rounded off with typically English afternoon tea, homemade cakes, fresh fruit, scones and cream - provided and hosted by our former Musical Director/Social Secretary, Sue de Courtenay Wellum, who also arranged the event. Very enjoyable.
Our next social event was a quiz night, with pie & pea supper, held at Heighington Village Hall at 7.30 p.m. on Friday 5 October. This was a very popular event.
On 24 November - we held another of our extremely popular and renowned Theme Evenings. This year's theme was Pirates, and comprised a meal and musical entertainment.
Saturday 8 March saw us once again gathering together - this time "Posh Frocks & Tux" - with everybody in their glamour, a lovely buffet supper and dancing.
If you missed these events, but would like to join us in other social activities, please contact our Social Secretary Sara Holliday on 07866601086.
