Since its inception, Newsquest North East has taken a leading role in developing, shaping and improving functionality within the CommuniGate environment and, with over 1300 active member sites, is undisputed champion of the initiative.

The hugely popular site (http://www.communigate.co.uk/ne) grows by an average of 12 new member sites each week. CommuniGate North East page impressions each month account for approximately 20% of total audience of the primary company portal (http://www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk).

Work undertaken to cross-link these two sites, has enriched the content of the news and information portal, increased the accessibility of the CommuniGate North East ‘directory’ and fostered enormous goodwill at grassroots level.

Site-owning clubs and groups are encouraged to promote their own Communigate URL, using the Internet, email and via newsletters and other printed correspondence with members.

This increases wider public awareness of the service and often provides an introduction to the enormous range of information available on our This Is news and information portal site.
