Charity Aims & History
The Julie Graham Children’s charity was set up to offer affordable quality childcare to all children, parents and carers. This service is offered in County Durham for children of school age. We operate in the Sacriston, Framwellgate Moor, Finchale, Chester-le-Street, Belmont, Pelton and Bowburn areas.
The Charity believes children of all ages should be able to play freely and confidently on their own and with other children. All children should have access to good quality early years play and out of school services.
The kids clubs are operated in the above locations both in term time (before and after school) and in school holidays, offering a wide range of both indoor and outdoor activities. Play is structured to suit the requirements of each location and is varied on a weekly basis.
During school holidays day trips are organised most weeks to places such as cinemas, pantomime, parks and theme parks.
The charity was established in 1994 with one location and since then it has grown in size and is now the largest childcare organisation in County Durham, employing over 35 staff and looking after between 300-400 children on average per week whilst still maintaining a personal touch.
