JOLLY SAILORS PLAYGROUP. A NEW EXPERIENCE IN CHILDCARE!
The JOLLY SAILORS PLAYGROUP opened its doors in April 2002. & has been running Sessions in the Parish Church Hall, (behind the Parish Church) on Macnay Street, Saltburn. It is open to children aged 2 to statutory school age. The session times will be as follows: Mon, Wed, & Fri 9:00-11:30am and Mon & Wed 12:30-3:00pm. We are OFSTED registered & the fee per session is £5.50 [New fee from June 7th 2004]. Help with costs is available; if you require any information about assistance with childcare fees or wish to know more about your local Playgroup, please contact Sharon England on (01287) 209492.
Playgroup is an excellent opportunity for your child to prepare for school/nursery, & to make new friends in a fun learning environment. The playgroup is ran by Co-Leaders Sharon England and Michelle Dixon & their team of qualified Play Workers & dedicated volunteers. Together they gently encourage & prepare children for their nursery school days ahead. We also have a parent Management Committee, who all work hard to ensure the smooth running of this playgroup. We are also lucky enough to have a number of sponsors, (although we are always looking for more!!!!) from the local & surrounding areas.
“We are committed to providing a fun, safe & satisfying environment, encouraging learning through play.” (mission statement 2002)
We also run a Parent & Toddler group which opened Sept 2001. LITTLE NIPPERS. In which almost 30 parents or carers with babies & toddlers visit every session each week. It’s a chance for making new friends, exchange tips on parenthood & generally watching their children grow in a warm & friendly environment. LITTLE NIPPERS can be found behind Saltburn Community Theatre on Monday & Wednesday mornings 10am-11.45am (during term-time) & costs £1 per child + 50p for siblings and babies under 6 months. For further information please contact Beth Sigsworth (01287) 622463.
WE DO REQUIRE VOLUNTEERS FOR BOTH THESE PROJECTS. SO IF YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH CHILDREN & HAVE SOME SPARE TIME, THEN PLEASE CONTACT EITHER BETH OR SHARON FOR MORE INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sponsored by Somerfield, Northern Rock Foundation, R & C Borough Council, CCF, (Childrens fund local network) John Smith's Grocers, Somerfield, Saltburn,Marske,& New Marske Parish Council & Agnes Spencer Charitable Trust. |
