All plays, either based on traditional scripts or written by the team, have the essential ingredients of the mummers play, i.e. death and resurrection, but are performed with some topical characters and references. The team feel very strongly that the folk play is a living tradition , not a museum piece and should therefore be entertaining to a modern audience.
The Mummers have revived the Marton-com-Grafton "Blue Stotts" play , researched by team members and perform this play at Christmas every year in and around Harrogate, Knaresborough and into the Dales , raising money for local charities.
