2009.
 | Last year was a very busy one. We celebrated our 40th year without a break. The Annual Concert included some of the songs that we have performed during our lifetime. A reunion evening was attended by past members and was a very enjoyable evening.
The choir membership continues to grow with the addition of three new members.
Our normal annual programme consists of the Patrons' Evening in April, the Annual Concert in July, the Annual Dinner in November and the Celebration of Christmas in December. This year we hope to compete in the Consett Festival in May.
The demand for charity concerts has also grown and this year we will sing for the Church at Satley and also for the NSPCC group in the village.
Our close links with the Lanchester W.I. will continue when we will trade songs for food at their Christmas meeting.
New choir members are always welcome on Monday evenings at 7.30 pm in the main hall of the Community Centre. |

A Barbershop Quartet
 | The Lantones is a Barbershop Quartet composed of choir members. The quartet was set up in 1998 and John Gray (Tenor), Brian Masterman (Lead), Kevin Meredith (Baritone) and John Wills (Bass) now form the group. The sole remaining member of the original group has managed to rebuild the Quartet and to revive the name
The original Lantones was created in 1975 by Ralph Hindle, an accomplished musician with a feel for close harmony singing. Following his untimely death in 1983 the Lantones was unable to reform at that time, though various attempts were made.
The Lantones perform during choir concerts and also by invitation to charity events, parties and other venues.
