Welcome!
to the website of
The Lanchester Partnership Ltd.
Who are we?
Our Partnership was established in 1999 with the support of the Parish Council, village organisations and village residents, to carry out the recommendations of the 1998 Village Appraisal and to help make Lanchester a better place in which to live.
What have we done?
Since then we have, on our own or in partnership with others, carried out many of those recommendations. Successful projects include:
* The Lanchester Link bus, which helps people living on the hill-side estates to get into the village centre.
* The Youth Club and Rock Club for teenagers.
* The Village Design Statement, a planning document that helps to protect the characteristics of the village and parish by controlling housing development. It has been adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance.
* The Reduction of Flood Risk achieved by persuading drainage authorities to improve village drains and study water flow in the valley of the Smallhope Burn.
* The Provision of Extra Parking Space, achieved by working with teenagers.
* The Parish Plan: we managed its production for the Parish Council. This is an important document and should lead to many improvements.
* The Grants that we have helped other village organisations to obtain.

How have we done it?
We are a registered charity and a non-profit making company limited by guarantee. For information on how we work see ‘Method of Working’.
What next?
The Parish Plan recommends many improvements. Working with the Parish Council and other organisations we are now starting to tackle them. |
