New Level Editor Downloads

Eidos Interactive have released three new downloads for the new year!

Visit Eidos downloads page and scroll down to the "OTHER MEDIA" section.

1. TEXTURES_0110.ZIP (approx 11 meg)--This zip includes 20 new TGA files for use with the Tomb Raider Level Editor. Textures from TR2, TR2 Gold, TR3, TR: The Lost Artifact, and TR: The Last Revelation are included. Please refer to the README.TXT in the zip file for more information.

2. NEW_WADS0110.ZIP (approx 12 meg)--This zip includes 2 new WADS (Lost Library & Guardian of Semerket levels) and a variation of the CITY.WAD. Please refer to the README.TXT in the zip file for detailed setup instructions and file descriptions.

3. REVISED_WADS0110.ZIP (approx 11 meg)--This zip includes updated WAD files for the 6 levels currently available on the TR Editor CD. Adding these files to your existing WADs folder will enable all of Lara's animations in each WAD. Please refer to the README.TXT in the zip file for more information.

HOW TO GET QUARTER TEXTURES TO ANIMATE

Many of the extra textures on the Level Editor disc and many of the new texture maps use quarter squares in the animated texture sequences. To get the quarter textures to animate, create a small, unattached one square cube off the corner of the texture square and press 'ctrl.' Then apply to it one full texture square (that's all four quarters!) from each of the animation sequences you intend to use. (Some of the maps contain more than one animation range.) Make sure you set your animation ranges!!

ALTERING THE SKY COLOR

To alter the color of the sky, you can change the values in the 'layer' line of script (directly following 'horizon'). The first three numbers are RGB, but you will need to do some experimenting because each color behaves like a transparent layer of color. Lower numbers make a darker sky. Values higher than 255 aren't recognized. The last number in the sequence affects the speed and direction of the cloud layer. The higher the number, the faster the movement. A negative number reverses the direction. Also, this works best with the Karnak and Tut1 horizons but you might be able to get away with subtle changes in the Coastal WAD.

CITY WAD BIG CHANGES!!

The city WAD will now load before and after the other levels! Lara is now able to climb and monkey swing and wade in water. Make sure you have your load camera coordinates set properly or your next level will not load properly.

ANGKOR WAD

The Angkor Wat WAD, due to hardcoding issues, can not load before or after another level.
