Leonard Frankland 1876 - 1945

The Late Mr. L. Frankland
The funeral took place on Monday of MR. L. Frankland (69) of 24 Davison Street, Lingdale. Mr Frankland was a teacher for 51 years and for 27 years taught at the Lingdale Council School. He was well known as an authority on gardening and bee-keeping an was secretary of the Bee-Keepers Association, in Cleveland. School children from the Lingdale School met outside the house being marshalled by Mr. Johnson the Headmaster, and the service was held in the Boosbeck St. Aidens Church conducted by the Rev. J. Riley.
The mourners were: Mrs A.J. Frankland (widow), Mr and Mrs R.W. Frankland (son & daughter in law), Mr and Mrs L.L.Frankland (son and daughter in law), Mr H. P. Frankland and Mr E. Frankland (sons), Mr and Mrs Summers (daughter and son in law),Mrs E.M. Wright (daughter), Miss M. Frankland (daughter), Mrs A. Frankland (daughter in law), Mr. H. Frankland (brother), Miss E Lewis (sister in law), Mrs Wrigley, Mrs Grove and Mrs Shaw (granddaughters), Mr B.S. Frankland (son) is serving abroad with the B.L.A.
Floral tributes were from the family, Joe, Marjory and baby Bill, Mr and Mrs Millward, Aunt Hannah & Eliza, Staff of the Lingdale Council School, Ralph, Ivy, Basil and Alice; Gwenny, Betty, Roy and Harry, Cleveland Bee-Keepers Association.

DEATH OF MRS. G.FEATHERSTONE.
Lingdale People will mourn the death of Mrs. G. Featherstone, of High Street, Lingdale, who died suddenly on Monday night. She was a prominent member of the Women's Institute, the Mother's Union and the Labour Party.
She had been in indifferent health for some time.

FUNERAL OF A SOCIAL WORKER
Mrs. Featherstone, a well known church and social worker, and wife of Mr. G. Featherstone of Lingdale, was laid to rest last Thursday in Boosbeck Church yard. The Rev. C. R. Davies conducted the service and spoke appreciatively of the excellent work Mrs. Featherstone had done for the Church and social organisations with which she had been connected. Members of the Mother's Union and Women's Institute lined the pathway of the Church.
The principal mourners were: Mr. G. Featherstone and family, Mr and Mrs Martin (Loftus), Mr. Trattles, Miss M. Trattles and Miss E. Trattles of Hinderwell, Mr. Martin, Mr and Mrs Featherstone and Mr. G. Featherstone of Ayton: Mrs Day and Mrs Day Junior and Mr Barnes.

Frances Mary Evans

Mrs Frances Mary Evans
Loss to church – The funeral took place of Mrs. Frances Mary Evans (85), of 24 Margrove Park, a resident in the village for 57 years. She was the oldest member of Boosbeck Parish Church and had been keenly interested in the work of the Sunday School for many years. Together with her husband, Mrs. Evans organised a Sunday School in Margrove Park, with herself as superintendent and Mr. Evans a teacher. The funeral service in Boosbeck Parish Church was conducted by the Rev. J. Riley, vicar of Boosbeck. Family mourners were Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Evans, son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F Gratton, daughter and son in law; Mrs Williams, daughter; Mr. and Mrs. H. Gratton, grandchildren; Mr. N. Richardson (York) nephew; Mrs Sanderson, Lingdale. Friends present included Mr. F.W.Kearsly, Mrs Knaggs, Mrs Thompson, Mrs Piper (North Ormesby), Mrs. Harland, Mrs Buckle and Mrs Sunley (Loftus)
