History in the Making
I have been in the last couple of months gathering stories for the BBC for their World War 2 Website and I have met some very interesting people. If you have any stories you feel would benefit future generations as to the futility of War or how it brings people together, please e-mail me at gedffleming@ hotmail.com.
One very interesting chap is Bill Morley a widower from Middlesbrough who has a fantastic scrapbook that spans most of the Second World War from his experiences as a Royal Navy man. He was there when General McArthur accepted the surrender of the Japanese High Command. Sir Admiral Bruce Fraber signed on behalf of the British Government and the King. | |
