DIRECTIONS TO NEPTUNE POOL, MIDDLESBROUGH

From A19 (both North & South) take A66 to Middlesbrough taking care not to take A66 towards Stockton & Darlington.

Follow A66 around Middlesbrough and you will eventually see Middlesbrough FC’s ground across the water on your left hand side. Just after sighting this, take A172 signposted for Stokesley.

Carry on down this dual carriageway until come to a roundabout where take left turn.

At first set of traffic lights (just after Majestic Bingo Hall on left) turn right and continue up this road (Ormesby Road) until roundabout where you will see Morrisons supermarket and petrol station.

Turn right then right again at mini-roundabout and you are in the Neptune car park.

OTHER INFORMATION

The Neptune Pool was opened in April 1998 and is an 8 lane deck-level pool with fully integrated Colorado timing and 8-lane scoreboard. The pool has a moveable floor allowing the pool to be set up specifically for competition. It is always the venue for Northumberland & Durham Counties Age Group Championships while it has also hosted the NEC Junior/ Senior Short Course Championships in past years.

The Neptune pool sits handily within 5 minutes drive of the main A66 which itself links into the A19 both from north and south.

For evening entertainment, there is a UCG multiplex cinema within five minutes drive of the pool, while further along the A66 towards Stockton there is Teesside Park which has a Showcase multiplex cinema, a tenpin bowling alley, a night club and various bars & restaurants including the chain restaurants of Frankie & Bennies, TGI Friday’s, Kansas Exchange, Pizza Hut etc. Middlesbrough itself has a wide selection of restaurants both cheap & expensive according to taste.

For some fresh air the North Yorkshire Moors are only a few miles away while down the coast there are the towns of Saltburn & Whitby, famous for its fish & chips (ideal for a good swim the next day!).
