Finally

One of the most satisfying things of Doreen and my life has been to see how Stephen and Martin have progressed in their lives. Doreen and I often think of our past, Our upbringing. Our low standard of living, Our education, and lack of ambition. Here we have two lads with real ambition.

Stephen.

Stephen along with his wife Linda and daughter Jemma. after receiving his degree at the Royal Albert Hall in London

Stephen served his apprenticeship as an industrial blacksmith. only to become redundant though cuts in the British Steel workforce, but after taking advice from a friend in the teaching profession he went to art college in Middlesbrough, then on to gain a degree in art at Teesside polytechnic.
Although times where very hard for him financially he was now a BACHELOR OF ARTS in THREE DIMENSIONAL DESIGN (INDUSTRIAL DESIGN / ENGINEERING)
He followed that up with a position at the ROYAL COLLEGE of ART in London. Once again his hard work earned him THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF DESIGN with distinction.
Stephen then got a position with a computing firm in Lichfield where he was then offered a place with a Canadian company Alias Wavefront from where he has never looked back.

Martin

Martin on the other hand has equalled Stephen in his own field he set his stall out searching for greater goals doing what he wanted.
After a very brief period working in a factory as an apprentice turner, work may I say he hated because of the working environment and attitude of his peers. He could see by going to college and working hard he could achieve a better future.
From college he went also went to Teesside Polytechnic and gained THE DEGREE OF BACHELOR IN ENGINEERING (CHEMICAL ENGINEERING)
His sense of achievement took him onto ESSEX UNIVERSITY to gain the DEGREE of MASTER OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER STUDIES.IN THE SCHOOL OF MATHMATICAL AND COMUTER SCIENCES. Followed by a spell in industry with ICI, From there he carried on his thirst for knowledge at Edinburgh University in some technical position, before taking up a post in Bournemouth with the Chase Manhattan Bank.

I conclude.

When we that is Doreen and I look at the lads and lasses of today. Especially the ones that through no fault of thier own cannot be taken on into the modern labour forces, surely someone some where can help them and encourage them to achieve greater possibilities with their lives through education and hard work, if the youth of today could look forward another thirty or fourty years and try to imagine what the future could hold in store for them, maybe it could give them a different outlook on life, and may be just may be their perants will be justly as proud of them as Doreen and myself are of our two lads STEPHEN AND MARTIN Good luck to the pair of you.
I hope readers have enjoyed reading about my memories and stories, Simply reading. No big complicated words that folk like myself cannot understand. I know there are many little mistakes but I hope to correct them all in the future.
