Welcome to Melsonby

Melsonby is an attractive village in the north of North Yorkshire with a population of about 800. The old village is lined up round the Green with the Church at one end and the school at the other. The Waterfall Beck flows through the centre of the village and disappears underground at the eastern end. There is a village shop and post office, St James' Church and an unused Methodist Chapel. It was a farming and quarrying village but now many people commute to nearby towns and cities.

Village Sports 2003

Glorious weather helped to make the 2003 Sports Day a great occasion.
After the fancy dress, races and tea in the afternoon, a barbecue and disco rounded off the day.
