Specialist and Rares Show

On Sunday 6th July 2008 the NBS hosted the Area Specialist and Rare Variety Show.
It was held held at Bowburn Community Centre, Durham Road, Bowburn, Co.Durham DH6 5AT
Judges: Janice and Ghalib Al- Nasser.
The weather was shocking nothing unusual for July but it did not stop the exhibitors and members from taking part.It was a great day and a special thanks to our judges who as usual did a splendid job also our girls who kept us going with food and drinks all day. Anne Cairns, Linda Heighton Barbara Blakemore and Mrs Brown from Hartlepool whose husband is a new exhibitor and was helping with the stewarding.It is great to see new faces volunteering to do the mundane but very important jobs.
Norma Phillips and John Mason ran the show fluently and everything was fine tuned and there were no emergencies, which is proof of their professionalism and very hard work.
The Quality Street Gang were there as usual doing the dirty jobs erecting and taking down of staging, doing the stewarding but generally dogs bodies.The main thing we had a good laugh and enjoyed ourselves. Dennis Cairns, Don Rowell, Colin Wright, Bruce Ross,Ron Fairhurst, Don Fishwick, Roy Cooke, Ray Blakemore and Ken Amos.
Also many thanks to the lads from Cumbria and Scotland for helping with the stewarding.
I make no apologies for blowing the trumpets of these people, without them the show would not go ahead.
