BILL DUNCAN
It is with much sadness that we record the death of William (Bill) Duncan who passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 8th of May. Bill was a regular soldier who served in the Royal Engineers and in Korea during 1951 and 1952. Bill was one of the four members from the Branch that went back to Korea in 2002, Bill lived in Huntly in Aberdeenshire, his photo can be seen in our picture gallery, he will be sadly missed by all members of the Branch and our heartfelt condolences go to his wife and family.

HUGH MACKLIN
We regret to announce the death of Hugh Macklin from Helensburgh. Hugh died on the 31st of October after a long illness which followed a sucessful operation to remove a brain tumour in 2002. He served with the RAOC and in Korea during 1955, he will be sadly missed by all members of the Branch and our most sincere condolences are extended to his family.

JOHN TAIT MACKAY.
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Mackay who died on Monday the 26th of April 2004. John served in the Black Watch in Korea from March 1952 until April 1953. John lived a Keiss in Caithness with his family and by trade was a master butcher. John and his wife Irene were ardent supporters of the branch and were regulars at all our functions. He will be sadly missed by all members of the branch and our heartfelt condolences are extended to his family.

GEORGE COWIE
Sadly we report the death of George Cowie who died on the 18th of May 2004. George joined the Northeast Scotland Branch of the BKVA on the 5th of April 1993, he served in Korea from December 1950 until April 1952 in the Royal Navy serving on HMS Belfast. George lived in Buksburn, Aberdeen and our sincer condolences go to his family in this hour of thier sad loss.

GEORGE CAMERON
We report with sadness of the death of George Cameron from Roybridge who died on the 30th of June 2004. George served in Korea from the 25th of May 1950 until the 23rd of April 1951 as a member of the 1st Btln Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders our condolences go out his family, we share the sadness of the loss of our comerade in arms.

TOM WATSON
After a long illness suffered with dignity Tom Watson died on Wednesday the 20th of octber 2004. Tom was a keen supporter of the Branch and attended organised events whenever he could, he served with the 1st Btln Cameron Highlanders and in Korea from June 1955 until April 1956. He will be sadly missed by all members of the Branch and our sincere condolences go out to all his family and relatives

ROBERT COMBE
After a very long illness borne with great courage and dignity Robert died peacefuly on the 20th of January 2005. Although confined to a wheel chair Robert was keen to attend as many Branch events that he could, the last being our annual dinner/dance in November 2004 which he attended together with his wife and daughter. As a member of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders he served in Korea betwen 1950 and 1951. As always he will be sadly missed by the Branch and our sincewre condolences are extended to his wife and family.

ARTHUR SMITH
It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce the sudden death of Arthur Smith from Glencoe, on Thursday the 10th of February 2005. Arthur suffered ill health for a number of years but remained positive throughout. He served with the 8th Hussars in Korea from November 1950 until June 1951 and was severely wounded when the Centurian Tank in which he was a crew member was badly damaged by enemy fire. He was a proud and keen member of the Branch and attended as many functions as possible. He will also be remembered as the man with the most fantastic pair of dogs that obeyed without hesitation any command given by Arthur providing it was given in Gaelic. Our most sincere condolences go out to all his family. He will be greatly missed by all members of this Branch.

PETER HARDIE
It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce the death of Peter Hardie who died on Christmas Day 2005. Peter served in the Royal Army Service Corps during the Korean War and lived in Inverness. Our deepest condolences go out to all members of his family.

ERIC MUDIE MC
It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce the death of Eric Mudie MC who died on Monday the 4th of September 2006. Eric served with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers in Korea from May 1951 until May 1952, he attained the rank of 2nd Lt and was awarded the Military Cross whilst in Korea. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.

MATHEW (MATT) DUNACHIE.
With great sadness we announce the death of Matt Dunnachie who died on the 1st of November 2006 after a long period in a nursing home. Matt was one of our longest serving members and will be greatly missed by all. He served in Korea from 1950 until released from a POW camp at the end of hostilities serving in Charlie Troop 170 Mortar Battery and was captured during the Battle of the Imjin in April 1951. Our deepest sympathy go out to his wife May and all the family.

HENRY LUMSDEN
It is with great sadness that we report the death of Henry Lumsden who died on the 10th of November 2006. Henry suffered ill health for a number of years and was laterly hospitalised. He served in the Queens Own Highlanders in Korea from 1955 until 1956. Our deepest sympathies are extended to his relatives.

MARK PENMAN
It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Mark Penman who died on the 17th of March 2007. Mark was a regular soldier who served in the Royal Marines, he served in Korea from November 1950 until February 1951 followed by service in Malaya. Mark was very proud to be a member of the British Korean Veterans Association and attended many funtions during his brief time as a member of the Northeast Scotland Branch. Our sincere sympathies are extended to his wife Jeanette and to all his family.

PETER McWILLIAM
It is with sadness that we report the death of Peter McWilliam. Peter lived in Huntly and served in the Royal Navy on HMS Alacrity in Korean Waters during 1950,51 and 1952 and had been a member of the branch for 17 years. All members of the Northeast Scotland Branch express very sincere condolences at the loss of a stalwart member.

ALEX LOGIE
Sadly after a short illness Alex Logie died on the 23rd of March 2008. Alex served in the Merchant Navy as a marine engineer on the troopship HMT Empire Orwell during 1952 - 1953. Alex and his wife were regular attendees atBranch functions and will be missed by all who knew him. Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife, family and friends.
REST IN PEACE OLD SOLDIERS for NONE are forgotten before God.
