Club Handover

It is that time of year when officers hand over their responsibilities to their successors. Rotary officers rotate every year in an effort to keep the club energized with new ideas and new events. This year we welcome Geoff Wall as the new Club President and Sue Adset as the President-Elect (President for 2012/2013 year).

Club BBQ Celebrating Rotary Ketchup

On August 13th, the club gathered at Sue and Allan Bush's home to socialize and make culinary use of the Rotary ketchup campaign. See the News and Events Page for more pictures of the days activities.

Classy Castoffs Clothing Sale

The sale was in the United Reform Church Hall, Northallerton last Wednesday afternoon 7th December. It was an International Committee event to raise monies for a bore hole project in Zambia. The charity is Zest-UK whose website is www.zest-uk.net. They have a number of projects in Zambia but we decided that we would like to put money towards a bore hole to provide clean water. Many of our members and friends donated items of 'classy castoffs' including good quality clothes, hats, bags and hats. At the sale we raised over £400. We have a few items left and are trying to decide the best way of using them to make a few more pounds. We are hoping for someone from the charity to come and give us an update on things (they have previously spoken at the club) and we will present a cheque.

Upcoming International Charity Concert

On the evening of Saturday 24th March 2012 in Northallerton Town Hall we will be hosting a charity concert 'Songs from the Shows' by Northallerton Amateur Variety Company Concert Party. Half the door proceeds will go to the District Ukerewe Project. The other half is going to Herriot Hospice Homecare, a local Cancer charity.
