Our History
Throughout Choir`s long History it has been proud to have performed alongside some very talented soloists. Local musicians who have appeared with the Choir include pianist Heather Nash, a member of the Royal Academy of Music and Peter Ellis, a Baritone and winner of the Operatic class at the Darlington Music Festival. The Choir has also appeared in concerts alongside Easington Colliery Band, the Hull Lydian Male Voice Choir and the Yorkshire Traction Brass Band. Over the years the Choir has sung at the London Royal Albert Hall, Durham Cathedral and the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne City Hall. The Choir undertook a successful trip to Paris to take part in the Ormusicales 2000 music festival, appearing alongside both French and German choirs. The Choir appeared at the Sheffield Arena on November 25th 2000 along with over 1000 other male voices when the charity Yorkshire Cancer Research benefited from funds raised. Several members of the Choir will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall in November 2003 as part of the Yorkshire Festival of Music when Yorkshire Cancer Research will once again benefit from the evening’s performance. |
