The Regional/Start Development Officer (RSDO) has been appointed as part of the BTA’s commitment to delivering a world respected development programme. Funded by Sport England, these posts have a clear remit as outlined below.
People Development
BTA Key Objective - To increase the number of coaches, event organisers, referees and club officials and to enable them to develop their skills and levels of competence.
Your RSDO will –
Work with the education officer to provide appropriate courses and programmes. Work to increase the number of female coaches and officials.
Assist in raising the profile of the region’s coaches and officials.
Club Development
BTA Key Objective - To increase the number of quality assured triathlon clubs, in particular junior clubs.
Your RSDO will –
Support clubs in the adoption of BTA policies.
Support clubs in achieving the Club Mark and STAR accreditation schemes.
Work to create partnerships with appropriate schools and clubs.
Youth Development
BTA Key Objective - To increase the number of young people taking up the sport of Triathlon
Your RSDO will –
Work with event organisers to facilitate race series for children & youths.
Work to increase the numbers participating in these series.
Work with event organisers to facilitate a series of taster events.
