The myths and the truths
MYTH: Greyhounds need loads of exercise and must run miles every day.
TRUTH: Greyhounds are one of the laziest breeds of dogs in the country needing just 2 x 20 minute walks a day.
MYTH: Greyhounds are aggressive and will attack other smaller dogs.
TRUTH: Greyhounds are very sociable pets and usually get on very well with other dogs (including small breeds). However in the early days it is wise to be cautious until you are confident with your greyhound.
MYTH: I can't have a greyhound because I have a cat.
TRUTH: Although some greyhounds will never settle in a home with a cat, nationally the RGT rehome over 3 out of every 10 greyhounds in homes with cats. If you have a cat, it may restrict your choice of greyhound, but it will not automatically prohibit you from taking one.
