How we operate

North East RGT will generally receive enquiries over the phone. Our volunteer will chat with prospective owner and discuss their situation and talk to them about greyhounds as pets. If they are still interested then they will arrange to do a Home Visit to discuss things further. If they still wish to go ahead after Home Visit then our experience Home Checker will select 1 or 2 dogs that they feel most match the need of the individual/family and home or you may be invited to visit a kennels to see the greyhounds needing homes All the greyhounds that you could rehome will be spayed or castrated, vaccinated and had a recent full veterinary check. We provide a collar & lead plus a reference book 'Pet owners guide to the Greyhound'. We ask for a £100 donation to help cover some of the costs of neutering, veterinary work etc and this also shows a genuine commitment from new owners towards their greyhound.
