Our aim is to provide members with affiliation to local, area and national athletics organisations thereby providing individual and team competition in Road Running,Cross Country, Track & Field and Fell Running.
By joining a first claim club runners will no longer be required to pay the extra unattached levy when entering races and events (levy is 2 pounds at present with an increase widely forcast).

NEVAC was formed in the early 1970's by members of the various North East clubs to provide veteran only competitions for track & field and road & cross country running.
In 2000 it was decided to form a completely separate association for the members of the various local athletics clubs. This association was to be called VAANE.
In 2000 those who were only members of NEVAC formed a first claim club completely seperate from the VAANE association and retained the name of NEVAC.
Now that everything is crystal clear - please read on !
It is VAANE that organises all veteran track & field league and championship events as well as road & cross country relay and championship events within the North East area.
Some VAANE events are open but some require membership of VAANE.
Membership of VAANE requires veterans to be a member of a club and to have been born within or live within the North East area.
Membership of NEVAC meets the first requirement.
NEVAC is affiliated to Northern Athletics and to England Athletics (formerly UK Athletics) and has the same status as other clubs.
