NYVMS--History and Purpose

The Society was formed in 1973. The meetings are held at The Lodge, Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire.
Its Members restore, preserve and operate vintage and classic machines of various types e.g. Stationary Engines, Tractors, Commercial Vehicles, etc., which are based on the Internal Combustion Engine. The Society does not have a section for machinery driven by steam but displays of such are invited from others.
Members meet every 3rd Tuesday in the month except in July and August or unless otherwise stated.
The Membership numbers approximately 100. Potential new Members are always welcome.
A Rally and Working Weekend is held annually where all types of machines mentioned are on displayed. Members support and attend the Rallies of other Societies and Clubs.
As well as having operational machinery some Members have extensive collections of articles from days gone by which are put on display to the Public on appropriate occasions.
The purpose of this page is to foster awareness and contact between people, Clubs and Societies which have similar interests in vintage machinery.
All machinery becomes vintage with the passing of time.
Today's Jet Engine is Tomorrow's Vintage!
The Society welcomes contact with others--do not hesitate to call!
An informal 'Help/Info' service is offered to anyone who thinks the Society can be of assistance to them.
To contact the Society please use the mail form at the bottom of this site

Event--Annual Rally and Working Weekend.

It has been decided by members of the Society that NYVMS will no longer continue hosting an "Annual Rally & Working Weekend” and thanks are expressed to everyone who has helped and supported the event over the past years.
