Welcome to Oxclose Buggy & Touring Car Club
The buggy club was formed over 20 years ago as part of the Oxclose Community Association held in Oxclose Community School, Washington.
The buggy club which races 1/10th scale electric model buggy cars, and has more recently also included 1/10th scale touring cars, on an inside track and if the weather permits during the summer months outside on a grass track.
Each week the track varies in layout and construction, to provide a challenge not only to the track builders but also to the drivers and their cars.
The club invested several years ago in a computerized recording system using BBK racing software. Substantial investment has also taken place in the club over the past 2 years with the introduction of the computerized AMB racing system, which electronically records the cars laps and lap times. This investment brought the club racing up to date with technology equal to that in other clubs operating within region and at national level.
The club has seen over the years some of its members entering local, national and international racing competitions. Club membership has always been open to people and children of any age. Members have always enjoyed the friendly yet competitive atmosphere of car racing with the driving skills involving speed, maneuvering, steering, and the improvement and sometimes repairing of their car functions.
Racing always takes place on a Tuesday evening at the school between 7.00 and 9.30 p.m.
New members or prospective people who may be interested in racing are always welcome, for further details contact either David on 0191 5486126 or Ken on 0191 4168514, or better still come to a club evening. |
