Parkside is a relatively new Centre, having been built in 1996. This new Centre replaced 'the hut' that had served the community for quite a number of years.
In 2001 a new extension was added to the facility at Parkside and has helped to meet peoples demands and boost community spirit and the enthusiastic response has ensured that the centre is running to practically full capacity.
The aims of this Community Association is to:-
1 - promote the well-being of local residents
2 - foster a community spirit
3 - provide facilities for a cultural, social and recreational welfare.
The Centre is positioned in a central location within Parkside and it's doors are open seven days per week to accommodate the various activites and groups.

After passing a business park on the left continue straight on over roundabout, (Seaham Dock Company will be on your right). After passing under a railway bridge you will enter Mount Stewart Street (Dawdon Welfare Centre on left). At the top of this street at mini roundabout turn right. Follow this road (you will pass Dawdon Community Centre on left). After driving over a small bridge take the 3rd left. This will bring you into Parkside, follow road (go straight over roundabout). We are the building after the row of shops on the left.
