Redcar & Cleveland PPI Forum
Redcar & Cleveland PPI Forum was set up in December 2003, as Langbaurgh PPI Forum, and has become an active part of patient and public involvement. There are currently six members on the Forum, bringing differing experiences and expertise to the group. The name of the Forum change in October 2006 following the change of name of the PCT and its boundaries.
Members attend meetings such as the Health Action Link and are also representatives of other several PCT and Community groups e.g. the Health & Transport sub group. This enables the Forum to raise patient issues at the level where changes are made, ensuring patients have a voice.
The Forum has made visits to the local community hospital, investigating the cleanliness of the hospitals, and investigated the patients experience of the out of hours service.
The Forums Annual Report for 2005/6 is now available on the Knowledge Management System, which you can connect to via the Commission website (see link page)and includes the work plan for 2006/7. For a paper copy of the report please leave you details on the Guest Book.
For further details of the work of the forums, to become a new forum member or to simply wish for an issue to be discussed at the next forum meeting, please add your details to the Guest Book on this website or contact Age Concern on the contact numbers shown on our main page. |
FORUM VISITS COMMUNITY HOSPITALS
Langbaurgh Forum completed Cleanliness Visits to the three community hospitals in the Langbaurgh PCT area - Stead, East Cleveland, and Guisborough Hospitals - in November 2005. The finding proved very interesting, and the Forum have made several suggestions for improvement to the PCT. Following these initial visit, the Forum are re-visiting the hospitals in February 2006, looking at the areas of concern from the first set of visits, and will then be distributing their reports.
If you are interested in this subject, and would like further information, or would like to receive a copy of the reports once complete, please contact the Forum Support Office. |
