Intermediate Colour Print 1st

Bob Middlemass receives the trophy on behalf of Sarah Scorer

At the end of each season we hold a Presentation Evening which for the last few years has been in the Cricket Club. A judge is in attendance to give the results of the "Print of the Year" and "Slide of the Year" Competitions and, at the end of the evening, presents the trophies for all the season's competitions.

This year, the judge to do the honours was Dr. Jim Lycette from Darlington camera club.

I propose to put the photographs of the presentation in the order in which they were made and the first one has an interesting twist to it. Sarah Scorer lives in Rutland and joined the club through the internet via Bob Middlesmass who picked up her trophy for her!

A Good Night Was Had By All

Member Vera Robinson MBE was not among the winners...

But she enjoyed the evening as did all who were there - including Judge Dr. Jim Lycette!

Mail with Print Of The Year 3rd

"Path" by Sarah Scorer, placed 3rd.

The club received a letter from Sarah Scorer who lives in Rutland but had corresponded with our member Bob Middlemass via the internet. Evidently Bob had provided Sarah with some tuition and she joined the club to enter the competitions in which she has done quite well.

"1st May 2003.
Dear All,
This is to thank you all so very much for allowing me to be a member of your Club for the past year. I could never believe that I would have won the Intermediate Class and I can't tell you how thrilled I am by this. To come third in the Print Of The Year has just put the icing on the cake. Bob has photographed the Shield for me and is sending me the replicas.

I have only been under Bob's wing for a year but during this time he has taught me nearly all I know, for which I am eternally grateful. As he has told you I am quite severely disabled and to have been treated on face value and winning when no one has seen me means such a lot to me.

My very best wishes to you all and thank you again. I look forward with some trepidation to being in the Advanced Class next year.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Scorer."
