The West Docks
 | The West Docks was adjacent to the Shipyard but was run seperately. It always seemed to be busy in the mid to late sixties.
The photo above shows one of Readheads ships, the m.v. Photinia on the left, alongside the docks. The Photinia was used on a number of occasions as a cable laying vessel. She was converted at Readheads and then back again after the job to her normal role. In this photo she was in for repairs to her accommodation after a bad fire. |

'Dundrum Bay'
 | | Combined operations between the Repair department and Admiralty Salvage succeeded in raising 'Dundrum Bay' from a lowely resting place in Tyne Dock. A short period in dry dock gained her a whole new lease of life. |
